The hits keep on coming: Richmond’s groove metal institution, Lamb of God, have revealed “Omens,” the title track from the band’s forthcoming new album, via a new music video. You can hear the song below.

“Omens” reinforces the dark and melancholy vibe that Lamb of God put down on first single “Nevermore,” which was released last month. Ever the thinker, frontman Randy Blythe explains the meaning behind “Omens.”

“I think a lot of the messes human beings find ourselves in could be very easily prevented simply by paying attention to obvious repeating patterns, both in our personal lives and in a broader sociohistorical context. What some call ‘omens’ are really just manifestations of the fact that there is nothing new under the sun. It’s foolish to ignore this, but we all do it.”

We’ve still got over two months until Lamb of God drop *Omens *on October 7, though it’s available for preorder. The band will presumably give listeners a chance to hear new songs live when they embark on a sprawling North American trek that will take the band across the United States and into Canada for a single show. Openers include Killswitch Engage, Suicide Silence, Spiritbox, Motionless in White and more.
