You’ve likely not heard of the Boston-based post-hardcore outfit HYEENA just yet, but after hearing their first single “Bring On The Storm,” you may want to make sure they’re on your radar moving forward. Released in support of their debut album Freedom From The Default, due out this next Spring via Innerstrength Records, the new track is heavy.

Formed in 2019 by frontman Keith Holuk (Ligeia, ex-Hero in Error) and drummer Austin Bryant, the band draws from influences like the Deftones, Gojira, and Of Mice and Men to apparently create their “post-metalcore sound with wild vocals, melodic singing, and energetic lyrics.”

Looking back on when the song was being written, Holuk said “Bring On The Storm” was a tonal shift for him personally compared to his past works.

While there’s no definitive release date for *Freedom From The Default *at the moment, the band says it’s currently getting that squared away while also planning a tour to support the studio effort. When more information comes, we’ll be sure to pass it along.

For now, check out “Bring On The Storm” in the official music video alone.
